John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people through his music. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for people to travel to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado to the people all over. In my travels, I've met people from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell that you're from Colorado, the first words they say are Oh John Denver. Brown explained. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short period in small folk ensembles. Danoff composed the track with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver was introduced to an earlier version immediately, he realized it was destined to be a hit single. A few days after performing to an excited audience in Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
