Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively on ABC's Lost television show. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio, dropped out high school and moved into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. They were struggling to get by at the time she landed her first part in the acting world as Rachel's Room's lead character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal of Murder In Greenwich of 15 year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to win. In 2004 Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she was a main actor for the first two seasons winning an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace, who had worked alongside Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, decided to make the move into the world of film. In addition, she appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The same character was played by Grace as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace reprised the role as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. The actress was featured in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith as a girl who acts as a muse to the stars, and draws the eye to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). As a member of the Gyllenhaal family She is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as a teenager when she appeared in small role in films made from her father. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 popular movie Donnie Darko. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama), and Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered their Golden Globe Award nods. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). The year 2009 was the time she was nominated for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mother in Crazy Heart. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee, in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Some of her other roles are as an agent of Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a singer in Frank 2014, and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead character. Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.
